Bolsa Mexicana de Valores Medal (1990)

This medal is connected to the Bolsa Mexicana de Valores (Mexican Stock Exchange), the heart of the country's capital market, whose origins go back to the stock exchange founded in Mexico City in 1894. What it shows

The obverse bears the legend BOLSA MEXICANA DE VALORES in the upper arc and the motto DICTUM MEUM PACTUM ("my word is my bond") in the lower one, with the institution's emblem at the center and the date 1894, the year the exchange was founded. The reverse presents in relief the tower of the CENTRO BURSATIL with its glazed dome, the legend MÉXICO, and the year 1990.

Context

The building shown on the reverse, the work of architect Juan José Díaz Infante at Paseo de la Reforma 255, began operating on April 15, 1990, and was inaugurated four days later. The medal recalls that debut, a financial icon of Mexico City with its more than 7,000 panes of glass.
